We are looking for creative individuals to join the Assessment Service to help make a difference to our young people's lives.
You will be working to support social workers in the team, and will work intensively and in a planned way with the adolescents, family or carers and other agencies and services, supporting children and families to achieve their potential. You will undertake direct work with adolescents, parenting work and potentially group work. You will undertake Return Home Interviews for children that have been missing and support young people at risk of homelessness. You will need to be able to work in partnership and use your skills to be able to engage with children in a meaningful way.
As a member of our team, you will be working alongside social workers and other partners, agencies and the voluntary sector to support children and their families in the community. Surrey Children's Service provides training to ensure competence and professional development. We will ensure that you receive a full induction and monthly supervision.
It will be ideal if you have had experience with working with adolescents and can show us how this work has impacted in positives outcomes. Knowledge and experience with regards to housing and the Southwark Judgement would be highly beneficial.
You will need to be able to engage with families/Carers and children, and support social workers in managing risk and effecting positive change. You should be able to evidence good written and verbal skills.

No two days in the team is the same. You'll need experience of working with children in a paid or voluntary area, or an interest in the welfare and care of children and young people. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are also vital.
