This is a fantastic opportunity to start a finance career in local government and be supported in studying for CIPFA's Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 3 qualification. Working across the full Finance and Accounting service, which includes Financial, Corporate and Management Accounting experience as well as supporting the Finance Operations functions (accounts payable, accounts receivable and income management).
Previous experience is not required but we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, flexible, and willing to start at entry level and ready to learn. The role requires strong, accurate computer skills as a lot of the work will involve data entry, using spreadsheets and updating accounting systems. After successful completion of a six-month probation period, the postholder will commence CIPFA's AAT level 3 qualification, so must be capable of managing the competing demands of work and study. Minimum entry requirements: five GCSEs (grade A-C or equivalent) including English and Maths, plus two A Levels (or equivalent) in academic subjects.
