Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this is an exciting new position in which the successful candidate will assist the Chief Executive in developing new policies and strategies and delivering new initiatives (e.g. on climate change and flood mitigation in the borough). This work will also involve working with partners, other local authorities, health authorities and central government agencies. You will have the opportunity to lead or participate in corporate projects and would be expected to undertake research and/or data analysis for the CEX. This is a career enhancing role where you will have the opportunity to make your mark. Runnymede is an innovative and entrepreneurial local authority in Addlestone, Surrey.
To be successful in this position you are likely to be a graduate/postgraduate with potentially two years’ experience in either a local authority policy development role or working corporately in the private sector. Ideally you will have a track record of contributing to various projects. You will be articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to liaise effectively with all stakeholders (including politicians).
Methodical and highly organised, you will be familiar with project methodologies, calm under pressure with an amicable, patient nature and an ability to get on with a wide range of people. Although these skills are highly transferable across both private and public sector, experience of working within the public sector would be advantageous.
If you think that you have what it takes to excel in this role then we’d like to hear from you.
