Although this is a 36 hour per week contract, you will be expected to be flexible with your rota pattern to cover the operation at the venue. You will be expected to regularly work evenings and weekends to meet the business’s requirements.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to deliver a first class service to our customers and ensure the positive reputation of our venue. You will be part of an Events Team ensuring meetings, functions and day to day building operations run smoothly and are delivered to a high standard.

As part of a customer focused local authority you will ensure a positive experience for all hirers, users, tenants and members of the public. You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills ensuring that our community buildings are able to build and maintain customer loyalty, support our commercial viability and social responsibility as well as ensuring our positive reputation.

Previous experience in the organisation and delivery of meetings and events is essential. AV knowledge would be desirable.

Flexibility and excellent people skills are essential to this role as is the ability to work in a team and be able to cope under pressure during busy periods.

You must be able to commit to working varied shifts and weekends to meet the operational needs of the business. As part of your duties, you may cover the coffee shop operation during busy periods and to cover sickness holiday so cash handling and food safety knowledge would be advantageous. You must also be available to work additional hours and ‘take up’ shifts at short notice to cover sickness and holiday.
