Independent Retirement Living Manager - Part time

We are looking for a dynamic, passionate, caring and empathetic individual to join the sheltered housing team at Runnymede Borough Council. As an IRL Manager you will deliver a high quality service to residents in one of our five sheltered housing schemes in New Haw. Each scheme offers secure, comfortable self-contained accommodation designed with the needs of older residents in mind.

You will act as the on-site representative for the Council, ensuring the day to day well-being of our residents in the context of health and safety, safe guarding and general maintenance of the facilities at the scheme. 

You will have excellent listening and communication skills as the role requires you to liaise with residents, their families, colleagues and external agencies to ensure their individual needs are met.

This is a varied role you will be required to work on your own and use your initiative to deal with difficult situations in a calm, positive and non-judgemental manner. You will also need to provide support, advice, assistance and promote choices to enable residents to continue to live independently within their local community.

As part of the role you will be required to participate in the out of hours on call rota covering overnight, weekends and some bank holidays. However, this requirement is currently under review.

A clean driving licence, access to your own vehicle and clear enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
