About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Enforcement Officer to join the Development Management Planning team.
Based in the recently refurbished Town Hall offices in Reigate, you would be part of a friendly and supportive team and handle a personal caseload of planning breaches. This would involve logging breaches, investigating and reporting on them as well as reviewing appropriate resolution and/or formal enforcement action as necessary.
Reporting to a Senior Enforcement Officer you would help draft notices where required and defend the Council’s case at appeal or in Court (where appropriate).
Please note, A 2.3% pay award has been agreed from 1 April 2020.
About the Person
The role would suit someone interested in planning and development with an eye for detail and the ability to read plans. The ideal applicant would have excellent analytical as well as communication skills with good customer care and an ability to stay calm under pressure.
In exchange for your expertise, experience and enthusiasm, we will offer support in continuing your personal and career development, in addition to providing a wide range of employment linked benefits.
We provide you with competitive annual leave, and contribute 15% towards the LGPS pension scheme. You will also have access to a range of discounts including local and high street stores, and salary sacrifice schemes including a cycle lease scheme, and ‘Better’ leisure centre membership.
