An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our Environmental Health team as a taxi licensing officer.

This is a part time position with a fortnightly working pattern of 12.5 hours a week. The hours are to be worked as follows:

Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9am - 2pm

Week 2: Thursday and Friday 9am - 2pm

These are the main hours of work however flexibility will be required depending on the needs of the service.

As a Taxi Licensing Officer, you will be responsible for the licensing of drivers, vehicles and operators. It is essential that you have relevant enforcement experience, qualifications or knowledge. You will need to possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work on your own initiative and prioritise your workload.

The position also involves the investigation of offences, including conducting interviews under caution and any follow up action such as suspension or revocation of licences; as such accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to use Microsoft word and outlook proficiently.

You must also possess a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle insured for business use. In addition to Essential car user allowance; we offer excellent conditions of service with a benefits package that includes a pension scheme and flexible working hours.
