Please note this role will be offered as a two year fixed term contract
About the Role
Join a small communications team with big ambition
We may be a small Communications team but we’re big on ambition. We’re changing people’s behaviours and raising income for the council using clever campaigns, targeted communications and a commercial approach. We’re also developing our digital communications to make sure our residents can hear from us in ways they want to.
So if you’re an innovative communicator, with a proven track record of designing multi-channel campaigns based on customer-insight, delivering and evaluating them, and have a sound understanding of digital communications (including social media) we want to hear from you.
About the Person
As our Communications Team Leader (Campaigns & Digital) you could be running a range of behaviour change and marketing campaigns – from encouraging people to ‘work local’ or helping people manage their money better, through to alerting residents on how to spot and report possible modern day slavery. From direct mail to Google Ad words, social media to PR, we will rely on you to sharpen up our digital communications and run campaigns that work– so it’s vital you know how to use and apply customer segmentation tools such as Mosaic or Acorn.
If you’re self-motivated and want to join a fast developing, forward thinking, ambitious and commercially focussed organisation, get in touch. You will need to hit the ground running and we expect everyone working here to be innovative, positive, supportive and flexible.
In exchange for your expertise, experience and enthusiasm, we will offer support in continuing your personal and career development, in addition to providing a wide range of employment linked benefits.
We provide you with competitive annual leave, and contribute 15% towards the LGPS pension scheme. You will also have access to a range of discounts including local and high street stores, and salary sacrifice schemes including a cycle lease scheme, and ‘Better’ leisure centre membership.
For an informal discussion about the role, please call Head of Communications & Customer Contact Carys Jones on 07904 066465 (from 16-20 September).
We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer, supporting the guaranteed interview scheme for disabled and ex-armed forces candidates, who meet the essential criteria for the role.
Closing date: Sunday 22nd September 2019
Interview date: Monday 30th September & Thursday 3rd October 2019
