Revenues Assistant – Recovery and Inspection
Salary: £21,955 -£29,403 pa
Full time: 36 hour per week.

We have a vacancy for a Revenues Assistant in our finance team. Working with our Recovery and Inspection officer, you will help us make sure that council tax and business rates are collected.
Your role will include working on cases where recovering council tax and business rates arrears, with some assistance on sundry debts and housing benefit overpayments, will be needed. Sometimes these could be quite complex cases which will draw on your experience and knowledge of debt management and dealing with sensitive and difficult situations. You will also be supporting some of our most vulnerable customers; helping them to access support that could possibly improve their situation.
As you would expect you will have excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to remain calm with customers who may be angry or upset. You will be a resilient person; determined to help our customers find the best solutions for them. As part of delivering excellent customer services, you will also have the ability to understand and clearly explain complex rules.
You will have strong digital skills for using web-based applications, spreadsheets and analytics tools and as you may be carrying out inspections and home visits, you will need a valid driving license. If you don’t have a car, don’t worry as you can access Council cars.
