An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced individual as a temporary position to cover the Principal Licensing Officer role in a busy but friendly licensing team as part of the wider Environmental Services Team. This vacancy has arisen due to our need to provide maternity cover an expected period of around 12 months (commencing in May 2018) with the provision for handover. Whilst May is the anticipated start date, the start date will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
Reporting to the Environmental Health & Licensing Manager, you will be responsible for taking the lead role in the day-to-day co-ordination, management and enforcement of the Council’s licensing functions, supervising six staff in respect of all operational aspects of the Licensing service and providing related professional advice, service and support to the Council and residents of the Borough
Applicants must have experience of motivating and managing a team, significant experience of working in a licensing service and show evidence of continuous professional, managerial and personal development. Relevant licensing qualification is desirable.
The successful applicant will be confident, organised and have a full understanding of the full range of licensing work being undertaken.
