As part of our Homelessness Prevention Team, you will provide help to people and families at risk of losing their homes.

You will work with people in the private and social rented housing as well as those in short term temporary accommodation. You will use a personalised approach to assist your clients to find a sustainable and achievable housing solution by addressing their support needs and achieving jointly agreed goals, promoting their independence and confidence.

You will be customer focused, an excellent team player and be able to engage positively with people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. You will need effective communication and negotiation skills as you will be dealing directly with landlords and agents, family and friends and other service or support providers. You will have a working knowledge of the benefits system and ability to help people manage their finances and debts, find a job or apply for private rented housing.

You will need access to your own transport during working hours as some locations you visit are not accessible by public transport.
