An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.

Surrey has a well-established Family Group Conference service which is fully integrated into our working in partnership with families.

It has become a crucial part of our work with children and families in helping them to make their own plans. The service has a proven track record of success in helping children and families stay together.

The successful candidates will be working as part of a team and be responsible for:

  • Delivering Family Group Conferences for families in Surrey to empower them to make safe and robust plans in relation to current concerns held about their child(ren)’s welfare.
  • Working in partnership with families and professionals, facilitating a process that promotes positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Delivering and Supporting presentations to other professionals promoting Surrey’s Family Group Conference Service.
  • Supporting the Service promoting the well-being of children in their families.
  • Embed the Signs of Safety approach into the team.

To be considered for this position you will be able to evidence in your application:

  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with families from different lifestyles, cultures, ethnic backgrounds and religions.
  • Ability to liaise and mediate between individuals, groups and organisations.
  • Direct experience and understanding of working with Children and Young People and their families.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • A suitable qualification at level 3 or above
