Runnymede Borough Council have a busy Parks and Amenities section which manages the Borough’s parks, open spaces, cemeteries and allotments.
We are currently seeking a park attendant to work on a casual basis, at Victory Park in Addlestone on Sundays. A typical Sunday at Victory Park in the winter will be 6.5 hours extending to 11 hours during the height of summer. There may also be the opportunity to cover work in the other parks within the Borough on various weekday evenings and weekends.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, able to work alone, be self-motivated, honest and flexible. This may be the job for you if you have experience of working outside all day and experience of carrying out manual work. You will need to be prepared to work in all weather conditions and be able to work on your feet for the duration of the shift. Some aspects of the job are particularly physically demanding.
The main duties of the role will involve keeping the parks clean and tidy, including cleaning the changing rooms and public toilets. Some testing of facilities and record keeping is also involved.
You will therefore be required to have good communication skills and be able to liaise with the public in a polite and friendly manner.
