Arts Development Officer

This role is responsible for maintaining and developing partnerships and undertaking the delivery of activity with key cultural partners, agencies and communities which result in the increased well being of residents and visitors to the borough.

You will play a significant role in the development and delivery of activity of the annual Celebrate Woking programme, including delivery of Party in the Park and other key art and cultural activity such as, Diwali, Chinese New Year, Refugee Week and Civic Events.

Working with our Marketing Team you will raise the profile of arts development within the Woking area ensuring that information, advice and guidance is available to all sections of our community.

As a representative of the Council on bodies such as Woking Arts Hub, Arts Partnership Surrey and various other external meetings, you will have experience of working in partnership with a wide range of organisations in the public, private and voluntary sector.

The ability to communicate effectively and practical experience of working in an environment which promotes Arts and in delivering Arts development initiatives and activities are key to this role, along with excellent administration skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

DBS Requirement

As this job involves contact with vulnerable groups, successful applicants will be required to obtain a Disclosure Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Assistance will be given by the Council and further details will be in the job application pack.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for this post. An assessment may be required.
