Surrey Arts is working towards a challenging target. By 2011, we intend to provide a Key Stage 2 instrument teaching programme in every school in the county.
Leading a team of teachers in the delivery of the programme, and taking a lead role in planning, implementing and evaluating it, you will make an important contribution to our ability to achieve this exciting goal, as well as to the development of wider opportunities programmes. Visiting teachers and schools to monitor the quality of teaching and learning, delivering professional development activities and facilitating the sharing of best practice, you will also provide support for the programmes, and advise on the allocation of resources.
A qualified teacher, with a music degree (or equivalent) and instrumental/vocal teaching experience, you have a high level of skill on your principal instrument/voice. Your range of demonstrable relevant knowledge includes teaching methods, the Music National Curriculum for Schools and current initiatives in music education, including Wider Opportunities.
