Kingston’s successful Tenant Finder Service is located within the Housing Resources Division and aims to support and encourage private landlords to overcome the problems that can arise during the letting process and help landlords to let properties to people who need somewhere to live, predominately families with children. To help contribute to our growing success we are looking to fill the following key role to strengthen our team:
Tenant Finder Project Officer
Fixed Term Contract until 31-03-09
Salary: £25,440 – £29,286 p.a. (pro rata)
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to further develop and promote the Homefinder Scheme working within the Tenant Finder Service to provide Qualifying Offers, as defined under the Housing Act 1996 Part VII (Homelessness) as amended by the Homelessness Act 2002, to discharge the Council’s duty to provide accommodation. To co-ordinate all aspects of the marketing, acquisition, letting and management of private sector tenancies for this purpose.
This role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills and sufficient understanding of private sector housing issues to provide a specialist professional service to landlords and homeless households. Whilst experience within a sales or private sector lettings environment and/or homelessness casework would be an advantage, we are ideally seeking someone who can demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to help progress this project successfully and market this service to secure properties for letting within a highly competitive local housing market, meet high casework standards and make a significant contribution to the service.
