The Targeted Youth Support team forms part of Kingston’s Integrated Youth Support Service (IYSS). The IYSS is a vibrant multi agency service. The Targeted Youth Support team uses integrated and holistic approaches in supporting vulnerable young people to achieve their full potential.

As a Targeted Adviser for young people you will be working specifically with teenage parents and young mums to be. You will be responsible for maintaining a caseload and delivering innovative packages of support that are designed to engage teenage parents and young mums to be in education, employment or training and support them to overcome any barriers that may prevent them from achieving their full potential.
You should be aware of the range of attitudes to teenage pregnancy and parenthood and be able to empathise with young people.
Experience of working with young people is essential and ideally you will have an NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) professional qualification in a related field. Knowledge of the Teenage Pregnancy Strategy and other relevant legislation including Youth Matters (2005) is desirable.
