Surrey Domiciliary Care Service Coordinator (Permanent)
In this highly varied and challenging role, you will be part of a small team providing a service to disabled children, young people and their families to enable them to have regular planned short breaks.
Surrey Domiciliary Care service is a countywide service providing quality assured home based support for disabled children and their families. The service is subject to registration and inspection by The Care Quality Commission
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a highly valued Surrey County Council service. The role involves direct work with disabled children and their families, working in partnership with a range of professionals, gathering information about the needs of the child, matching children to support workers with key tasks around recruitment, selection, training and support of Support Workers. You will assist in the day-to-day running of the service ensuring that it meets the required National Minimum Standards for Domiciliary Care.
You will need to have experience of working with disabled children and their families and of supervising staff. A good understanding of the relevant legislation is essential. You must be IT literate with highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Please note that occasional evening and weekend work will be involved, plus on-call duties.
You will need to complete the required mandatory training and there will be additional opportunities for further professional development.
An enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure, POVA and POCA check will be required for this role.
