Salary:Between £6.59 and £9.03 for instructors and £9.18 and £13.55 for Supervisors

We have vacancies for Supervisors, Instructors and Assistants to work on our summer schemes from 27July – 14 August at Addlestone: Jubilee High School, Ottershaw: Memorial Fields, Chertsey: St Anne’s Catholic Primary School and Egham: Magna Carta School. You should also be available for training taking place during the week of 20 July although the sessions you will need to attend will depend on your experience and employment to date with Runnymede Borough Council.
Daily Hours – approx 8.15am – 3.45pm with ½ hour lunch break. Hourly Rate from £6.59 (lowest basic) – £9.03 (for qualified and returning inc. holiday pay and first aid allowance)
As an Instructor you will need to be imaginative, resourceful and sufficiently knowledgeable to be able to organise activities and maintain control of a group of up to twenty children, with assistance, or eight children without assistance. You will also be assisting the Supervisor with their duties and supervising children at times when no organised activities are taking place. You must have previous experience of working with groups of children in a play environment and a higher rate is payable if you have Playwork qualifications.

As a Supervisor your role is one of co-ordination and leadership which is crucial to the successful, safe and happy operation of the scheme. Your duties will include planning and delivering the on-site activity programme and managing your team of staff. You must ensure that all children are supervised in a safe environment, account for money taken on site and complete required paperwork so that the scheme complies with all OFSTED and Runnymede’s procedures. You will be expected to attend relevant meetings and feedback to Scheme Managers on a regular basis.
A number of vacancies have been identified for staff to work alongside children who may need closer support whilst the schemes are operating. Therefore, if you have any experience of working with young people with special needs or behavioural issues this would be an advantage.
