The Social Care L&D team is looking to recruit a Learning and Development Adviser who can make a positive contribution to the provision of a wide range of learning and development activities aimed at enabling Surrey County Council’s foster carers to develop essential skills, knowledge, qualifications, values and confidence to ensure an outstanding level of service to vulnerable children in Surrey.
You will be integral to improving the skills and qualifications of Surrey County Council’s children’s social care workforce via a range of learning and development provision. You will provide advice to, and negotiate with, all stakeholders involved in driving forward the continuous professional development of Surrey’s foster carers.
Utilising your skills across a range of different learning and development activities, you will work within set standards, timescales and budgets using project management tools. With excellent presentation skills, you will have a sound understanding of the processes involved in commissioning and designing a training event. With a flexible and creative approach to partnership working, you will also plan and evaluate a variety of learning and development activities through both commission and direct provision.
With experience in children’s social care, fostering, or education, you will also have a proven track record in delivering training to adults and promoting equality issues. An organised problem-solver, you will have specialist knowledge of children’s social care including foster care services, statutory training and care standards.
