Willows PRU is a centre providing alternative education for vulnerable young people. Supporting the centre’s managers, you’ll maintain and update records, process the payroll, and develop effective office systems to ensure that the centre runs smoothly.

You’ll organise your own workload, set your priorities, and manage other staff. Surrey is developing its alternative education provision, so there will be opportunities to be involved with that development. Most importantly, this is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children.

With a background in administration within education or provision for young people and families, you’ll have experience in dealing with complex and confidential work relating to children, and understand the needs of vulnerable young people with challenging behaviour. Superb organisational skills are crucial, as is an understanding of budget processes, monitoring and recording. You’ll also have good communication skills and excellent IT skills, including experience in Microsoft Office and the ability to manipulate databases and spreadsheets.

An enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure and POCA check will be required for this role.

For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Susie Campbell on 01483 888 690.

Interview date: 20 October 2008.
