As a vital member of the Highway Asset Team within Operations, Highways and Countryside, you will be working closely with various Project Managers, enabling them to determine potentially new areas of Asset Management, and assisting in the delivery of practical solutions on the ground.
The project content will be extremely diverse, and you will be working very closely with a great variety of other people, both internally and externally, in helping to ensure that these practical solutions are delivered in a cost effective and timely manner.
We are looking for someone with a background in engineering/highway maintenance or a closely related industry, who has worked in a project team environment, and has experience in carrying out surveys and in producing/reporting reliable and meaningful data.
You will be asked to carry out and manage the investigations and surveys necessary for a variety of projects, and to report findings and contribute to decision making in terms of what should happen next.

You should also have a good working knowledge of the relevant principles, practices and procedures relating to Asset Planning, Highway Engineering and Maintenance. This knowledge will better enable you to assist in implementing the most appropriate survey/data for the relevant programme/project.
