The opportunity has arisen to join the Surrey & Sussex Probation Trust, either as a Quality Development Officer or a Probation Officer. These roles are both paid on a Band 4 salary(£27,914 – £35,727) and full-time, part-time and job share applicants would be considered.

Quality Development Officers

We have an exciting career development opportunity for Probation Officers looking for their
next challenge. This is a key role with specific responsibility to contribute to the development of excellence in the quality of Offender Management teamwork through providing development, coaching,
mentoring and guidance to all staff within the team. In addition, you will spend between 20-40% of your time maintaining your practice through the management of a defined caseload and/or authoring reports.
Reporting to the Senior Probation Officer in either an Offender Management, Integrated Offender Management or Public Protection Team, you will have a proven track record as a competent and high-performing qualified Probation Officer. You will need to be able to
demonstrate:
• Successful management of a diverse and challenging caseload.
• Ability to collate information, write clear reports and communicate effectively.
• Evidence of commitment to quality and practice improvement.
• Ability to motive, guide and coach staff.
• A thorough understanding of Offender Management and its implementation in practice.
