Are you able to support young people and engage them in informal educational activities that develop their skills during an often difficult period of their lives?
An opportunity has arisen for a 10 hour Part Time Youth worker to support young people to reach their full potential. The Discovery Centre is located in the Centre of Guildford, and young people from the area plus those visiting the town access the facilities. It delivers centre based, outreach work and specific issue based projects.
The Centre provides a range of Personal and Social Education opportunities for young people in the 13-19 age range.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to join the team. If you are passionate about providing quality services to Young People, are committed to developing the Youth Work Curriculum, and want to work in a thriving youth centre, then we would love to hear from you.
The 10 hours is spread across the week , but a major part of the role is on a Saturday at the “Drop in Café”
The post will involve working with targeted groups and applicants must have previous experience of schools youth work and be a nationally qualified JNC youth worker.
An enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure and POCA check will be required for this role.
