Parks and Countryside Assistant
Salary (SH4) £23,115 - £27,153
Permanent, 37 hours per week
We are seeking an enthusiastic person with relevant knowledge and experience to join our team that look after the boroughs parks, countryside, sports facilities and open spaces.
We need you to be able to multi-task, be motivated, and flexible within this role. We would like you to be confident with a hands-on practical approach to work. You will enjoy working as part of a small friendly team supporting and motivating each other whilst working in the office and, of course, the great outdoors!
You would coordinate and monitor the work of contractors whilst also providing reactive and planned works within the team. You will inspire community groups, visitors and volunteers by sharing your skills and knowledge to help grow and support the work of not only the team but the wider service. This really is a diverse role and has the ability to learn and grow as it develops.
A full driving licence is essential for this role as you will be required to visit different sites across the borough. There will be some evenings and weekend work for which time off in lieu will be given. It will be necessary for the successful candidate to have a clear Disclosure and Barring Service check for which all costs will be borne by Surrey Heath Borough Council.
