As well as replacing stock on the shelves and keeping the library in good order, the job involves using the library computer system to control the circulation of library stock and give information.

Good computer skills in packages such as MS office will be important, along with excellent communication skills, stamina and a positive attitude towards training and personal development from induction onwards. You will also be involved in delivering children’s activities including Rhymetimes and Storytimes.

With Horsley Library open 29.5 hrs per week, staff may be asked to change work patterns to cover for sickness etc, so you will also need a flexible approach. Literate, numerate and able to work under pressure, you must also be a good team player and, above all, committed to delivering high quality customer care.

There are no staff parking facilities at Horsley Library, however there is a free car park within a few minutes walk. The nearest train station is Horsley, which is a 5 minute walk to the library. When making your application, please consider your travel costs and arrangements.
