Elmbridge Museum is about to celebrate its centenary! We’re entering an exhilarating period of redevelopment and revitalisation of its museum service. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, innovative Learning Officer able to bring the museum’s local history collections to life for the local community through a range of formal and informal learning programmes.
The successful candidate would possess the following essential attributes:
- qualified to degree level in a relevant subject
- experience in museum education and / or teaching
- experience in producing and providing learning activities for a range of audiences
- experience using a range of office software programmes
- knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum and life long learning issues
- ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
- effective oral and written interpersonal and communication skills
- full driving licence and own transport
Elmbridge Museum is located in Weybridge, Surrey and is a prominent feature of the Leisure and Cultural Division of Elmbridge Borough Council. The Council has an Excellent rating by the Audit Commission in its CPA inspection. The Leisure and Cultural Services Division has also been awarded its fourth successive Charter Mark. Elmbridge Museum is a Registered Museum.
