In our Resource Centre for older people with mental health problems, we encourage our residents and day care users to participate in the matters that affect them so that they can lead active, dignified lives within a secure and responsive environment. Creating the home-like atmosphere in which we pride ourselves depends greatly on all the people who work in our staff teams.

You would work as part of one of those teams to help residents achieve their full potential, using the everyday life skills that you already have and which you can put to good use regardless of your age or background.

We provide a high standard of care for our residents and day centre clients ensuring that they lead active and dignified lives in a friendly home environment.

Later this year we will be moving to a brand new site which is situated just off the Leatherhead road in Chessington.

Day Care Officer

You will be expected to work 35 hours per week over a four week rota, which will include evenings and weekends.

As a member of the multi-disciplinary team you will be responsible for personal and practical care to our day centre users. Working within our dynamic team, you will be instrumental in creating an environment where residents can maintain their independence and dignity. Driving our vehicles too and from the centre and acting as an escort on these vehicles.
You will need to have excellent communication skills and teamwork skills are essential. You will receive full training and have a supportive working environment. You must have or be willing to work towards an NVQ level 2 qualification.
You will need to hold a Current clean driving UK licence and have some experience of working with older people who have mental health needs.
The ability to recognise service user’s needs and to respond accordingly.
