Fixed Term contract for 1 year
This is a temporary post in the busy Council Tax Team. The main duties include: amending the Council’s records for changes in customer’s circumstances, granting discounts, exemptions and issuing reminders, final notices, summons etc to ensure efficient collection. The post involves a high degree of customer contact both over the telephone and at the reception desk therefore excellent customer care and communication skills are essential.
All work is processed via desk top computers including viewing documents, which are all held electronically. You must therefore be happy to work on a PC for a substantial part of the working day.
You will need to be able to work under pressure and organise your work to meet both output and accuracy targets. You will have good written and numeric skills together with the ability to learn quickly the regulations and procedures necessary to fulfil this role. You must enjoy working in a busy office environment.
If you have the right skills you do not need any prior experience in revenue administration as full training will be given. You need to have attained good GCSE results or equivalent.
