ContactPoint is a new national database which will allow authorised users to confirm quickly what services are currently working with any child they have concerns about. This will make it easier to provide coordinated early intervention for children who may be at risk of harm or are failing to achieve their full potential. Data for ContactPoint will be extracted and uploaded from a number of pre-existing national and local sources.

The Kingston ContactPoint Implementation Team requires a Data Manager to facilitate the connection of local data sources to ContactPoint, to manage the quality of child records for which the local authority is accountable and to support the implementation of ContactPoint in Kingston.

You will work with internal and external partners in identifying data sources, negotiating agreements to share data and then ensuring that all sources are technically compliant with ContactPoint using the national Local data Quality Tool (LDQT). In addition they will have to set up procedures and systems to deal with data inaccuracies and resolve conflict between different data sources.

You will understand project management principles and will need excellent negotiating skills to help partner agencies to comply with their legal duty to supply accurate data to ContactPoint. A technical knowledge of working with databases will be needed and we will work with the post holder to develop these skills in line with the requirements of the role.

If you would like an informal discussion about the post, please contact George Hawthorn, ContactPoint Manager, on 020 8547 6507.
