Coveham is a registered residential care home providing a 24-hour personalised support service for ten adults with Learning Disabilities.

Coveham is committed to supporting residents in a person-centred way that helps them retain their independence and we take an active role in the community.

We are looking for people who can help us continue to provide a safe environment to live in and deliver a high standard of care.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our friendly and dedicated staff team of residential support workers. Your role will be to assist in the provision of a high quality 24-hour residential service for Adults with learning disabilities, enabling people to live with a maximum of choice and independence. You’ll be part of a team who, as well as teaching basic life skills and helping with daily tasks such as bathing, eating and socialising, you’ll also help Keyworkers make sure their care plans are implemented.

You will need to be sensitive to the needs of adults with learning disabilities and support the individuals residing at Coveham by participating in a wide range of community-based activities designed to meet their individual wishes and needs.

Our shift patterns cover the 24-hour day and are designed to meet the personal needs of the service users living in a registered residential care home.

Our care bank (casual hours) team work as and when required. You must have a flexible attitude, as shifts will include working some unsociable hours, weekends and some Bank Holidays. We are in reach of the A3 and M25, but there is limited public transport with the local train station a 25 minute walk away.

All new staff complete an induction programme, for which you will need to be committed to undertake all mandatory training for this role and there will also be opportunities for further training and personal development. You will also receive regular staff supervision and annual appraisals.

You will need to be willing to take a Diploma in Social Care level 2.

IT skills would be useful but training will be given and you will need to have a commitment to equal opportunities.
