Role Description:
Longfield is a residential home for the elderly in Cranleigh. We have 50 beds and cater for those suffering with dementia.
Whilst public transport is somewhat of a challenge, we are in a lovely rural area and we do have a regular bus service during the day. Our home is run by a dedicated staff team who are committed to providing the best possible care to our elderly residents.
We are currently looking for Care Assistants for our bank to join our team of staff working with older people who have a diagnosis of dementia. Experience is preferred, although not essential as training will be provided.
You will need to be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of our service users and have excellent communication and observation skills with an understanding of the complex needs of Dementia. Full induction and training will be given and you will be required to attend regular training including updates.
You will be responsible for attending to the personal care needs of residents with a view to creating a supportive and homely atmosphere in which residents/clients can achieve their maximum independence, stimulation and choice.
As part of our selection process As well as an interview you will need to complete a verbal and numerical test.
