Brockhurst is a Residential Home for Older People situated in Ottershaw in Surrey. We have 50 beds and cater for the elderly and those suffering with dementia. It is an exciting time to join us. We are under new management and have recently opened a new unit of 7 beds.
Whilst public transport is somewhat of a challenge if you are mobile then we are in a lovely rural part of the County and our Home is run by a new dedicated team of senior carers and managers who are committed to providing residents with the best possible care.
We are looking for a number of staff and have vacancies to support full time working, part time working, night shifts and ‘bank’/casual working. As a member of our ‘bank’/casual staff your hours and working pattern would be fully flexible and we would agree working hours on a monthly or weekly basis. Our staff on ‘bank’/casual contracts are very important to us and ‘bank’/casual workers are key to us providing a consistently high level of care at all times.
We are looking for motivated and committed individuals to join our team and help us achieve our goal of creating a supportive and homely atmosphere in which our residents and clients can achieve their maximum independence, stimulation and choice as outlined in our “Charter of Rights”.
Respectful of the confidential nature of the care you give and aware of the code of conduct at all times you will be a key worker for assigned service users. With a full understanding of the personal, practical, social and emotional care of residents and of other clients of the Home you will enable all our service users to meet their individual needs. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills will enable you to keep clear records and care plans and be comfortable with writing reports and following procedures. A proven team player who is understanding of others’ needs and views you will offer reliable, sound support to your fellow workers in the Home’s delivery of the best of care to our residents.
In return we offer you full support from your fellow colleagues and domestic staff, a comprehensive induction programme along with attendance at mandatory courses and further training for your own personal development. You will also receive regular supervision and full annual appraisals.
Surrey County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
