Looking to develop your countryside skills and career?
Work with our Countryside Team maintaining and enhancing over 30 sites including Downland, Woodland, SSSI’s Local Nature Reserves and urban green space.
With experience of working on urban countryside sites (either paid or voluntary) you will have knowledge of estate management and maintenance, including the ability to carryout tree planting, tree felling, coppicing, fencing and other conservation tasks as well as dealing with urban issues such as litter and fly tipping.
As part of this front line council service you will need to be able to work on your own or as part of a team and be able to communicate effectively at all levels, whilst upholding the Council’s core values and policies. Working with volunteers and community groups is an important aspect of this role. You will hold a current driving licence, an NPTC certificate for basic chainsaw use; PA1 and PA6 certification is desirable.
