Asset Development delivers the asset management and building surveying service for Council-owned operational and investment properties. There are five key surveying skills that we undertake: strategic asset management, building maintenance, building project management, valuation, estate management and landlord and tenant services.

Your day to day work will include handling client building fault reports by phone, email or web; monitoring the progress of projects and schemes using the team’s MS-Excel Contract Management System; administering the team’s standard procurement processes; progressing payments to contractors; compiling and maintaining property Health and Safety files; helping undertake post-inspections on site of minor repair works; administering the rent review and lease renewal processes; recording and circulating formal notification of completed rent reviews and lease renewals

You will have a varied experience of administering building construction and repairs, working with a range of Microsoft Office products including successfully using and developing MS-Excel applications at intermediate level. You will have a good knowledge of property-related issues and some experience of administering tenanted properties.

You will have strong IT skills, with particular reference to Microsoft Office products and the ability to maintain and develop flexible bespoke MS-Excel applications for a small team. You will also be familiar with Geographic Information Systems and have a working knowledge of the SharePoint environment.

You will be able to act proactively on your own initiative with good assertiveness skills, strong team working skills and the ability to readily assimilate knowledge and acquire new areas of expertise. Your abilities will be supported by strong verbal and written communication skills, good customer service skills and attention to detail.

The basic hours of work applicable to the position are minimum of 24 to maximum of 28 per week, flexibility between Monday to Friday.
