Working with our Community Mental Health Recovery Services, you’ll be part of a staff group that include psychologists, CPNs, AMHPs, Senior AMHP and psychiatrists who work closely together as a dedicated group committed to improving the lives of those with mental health problems.
We are looking for an individual who effectively manages a complex caseload of clients with severe and enduring mental health problems whilst assessing the social care needs of individuals to deliver comprehensive care plans to meet specific needs and constraints. Developing a clear and co-ordinated system, you’ll undertake direct social work intervention with both users and carers and ensure all those involved appropriately and effectively carry out all services.
In relation to the mental health act you will be responsible for undertaking statutory duties and be part of a duty rota for the Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) service. You’ll also manage the supervision, training and professional development of staff, students and volunteers, and be responsible for your own personal training in order to maintain up-to-date knowledge of mental health issues.
To join us, you should have a Professional Qualification in either Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or Psychology and Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status, advanced mental health training and substantial post qualifying experience that should include direct work with those who have mental health problems. In addition to this, you should have a working knowledge of legislation, assessments, preparation of care plans, monitoring and reviewing outcomes.
For an informal discussion about these roles please call Chrissie Caines on 07968 832858.
Surrey County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
