Adoption Specialist Manager

In Surrey we provide an Adoption and Permanency Service that is rated by the DCFS as excellent. We pride ourselves on a ‘Child focused’ Service which works creatively and innovatively to recruit, assess and support high quality adoption and kinship care placements.

This is a job share post (two and a half days per week) that will at times incorporate the Agency Advisor to the Adoption Panel role. Key responsibilities will include professional advice and guidance on practice standards and regulations, and the delivery of training on matters related to adoption and kinship care throughout the Children’s Services. You will lead and deliver on specific projects and have responsibility for ensuring that procedures, protocols and information about the service are amended and updated as required. You should be able to work with a high degree of autonomy and initiative in order to ensure that they are informed at both a national and local level of new requirements, current practice developments, working with the Service Manager Adoption to achieve the goals of the service.

You will require a social worker qualification and substantial experience of social care statutory work and Adoption practice. We particularly welcome applicants with experience of promoting Legal Permanency through kinship care arrangements.

An enhanced CRB disclosure and POCA check will be required.
